Visit historic and cultural sites around Kilkenny including Kilkenny Castle, Shee Alms House, Rothe House & Gardens, The Courthouse (Grace’s Castle), The Black Abbey and St. Canice’s Cathedral. Active Retirement
A 9-minute walk from Tullamore train station, this relaxed hotel is also in close proximity to the world famous Tullamore Dew Whiskey Distillery. Arrive by train or car to Tullamore and we will look after your group. A visit to Tullamore Dew, afternoon tea, pool time or a cycle on the Grand Canal Greenway are some of the activities we suggest but we can create bespoke itinerary based on your group’s interests.
Cycle Routes & Walking Routes
There are many routes to choose from and so close to the hotel. Some of the popular routes include: Lough Boora Discovery Park – Located 20 mins from hotel. Transformed from its previous incarnation as a commercial bog, today Lough Boora Discovery Park offers 3 Off road Cycle Routes ranging from 6km – 15.8km, 5 Off road walking routes ranging from 3.3km to 15.8km; Slieve Bloom Mountains- 30 minutes from hotel with trails to suit all abilities, these include 21 marked trails from 1 hour to 4 hours.
The Offaly Grand Canal Greenway stretches from Edenderry in the east to Shannon Harbour in the west of the county. Bring your own bike and we will store securely or hire one locally.
Golf
Being situated right in the middle of Ireland means that the Tullamore Court Hotel is almost the same distance from both coasts. As such, we’re completely surrounded by splendid courses near and far. The golf courses in and around Offaly provide a varying degree of difficulty but they all offer a similar amount of incredible scenery. We’ve arranged some specially-reduced green fees with most of the courses. Tullamore Golf Club, Esker Hills Golf Club, Edenderry Golf Club, are some of the courses in close proximity to the hotel. With the incredible natural beauty of the landscape, Lahinch and Doonbeg are easily accessible (50-60 minute drive) and promise a superb golfing escape with incredible scenery. We are also happy to assist with booking Green Fees. Additionally, we can arrange a post golf massage in our spa for the group. Dining as a group can be catered for either indoors or outdoors and we can tailor menus to your group’s requirements.

Walk the Annaloughan National Loop, it is an 8km walk and is situated in the heart of the Cooley Peninsula. It offers expansive views overlooking Dundalk Bay and beyond.
